A separate camera-drone control family

Drone Horizon includes a DJI-style stabilized flight family alongside Standard manual flight and FPV/Acro. In the stabilized family, pilot translation input is used to request movement, while outer control loops manage braking and hold behavior before commanding the motor-driven aircraft.

“DJI-style” describes the intended camera-drone behavior. The source explicitly treats its values as simulator tuning rather than proprietary DJI firmware. Selecting this style does not establish compatibility with a DJI-branded remote.

Cine, Normal and Sport

The project provides three assisted presets with different speed, acceleration, braking, yaw and gimbal parameters. Cine emphasizes deliberate movement, Normal provides a broader everyday envelope and Sport allows stronger movement demands.

Those are simulator-specific limits. They should not be advertised as exact replication of a named commercial aircraft. The current model also includes transition handling so changing assisted presets does not simply replace the aircraft's motion with a new animation.

Centered controls can request a hold

The stabilized controller monitors neutral translation input, brakes motion and can capture position and altitude targets when conditions settle. This differs fundamentally from Acro, where centered rotation sticks do not level the aircraft or stop its velocity.

A beginner practicing manual FPV should therefore choose the appropriate manual family rather than assuming any steady hover teaches collective control. A camera-drone exercise can intentionally use the stabilized behavior to study framing and movement.

Gimbal behavior is part of the view

The gimbal model provides finite-speed pitch movement and smooth response. It supports stabilized framing and a different FPV-follow relationship. Camera motion and body motion remain separate things to inspect, especially when a level-looking image hides a banking aircraft.

Use a slow approach or wide orbit to compare movement and framing. Do not change camera FOV, gimbal response and aircraft speed together during the first comparison.

Switch flight families deliberately

The source restricts flight-style changes to suitable menu or landed/disarmed conditions. That avoids casually replacing control semantics during a maneuver. Review throttle behavior and the current profile before taking off after a style change.
